Attach the RectorSeal NoKink connector to the refrigerant line in the minisplit evaporator unit using either silver solder or flaring. Brazing may not be allowed by some equipment manufacturers. The excessive heat during soldering or brazing could damage the NoKink hose and cause a leak. A heat blocking product, such as Hot Block, shall be used during soldering or brazing to protect the NoKink hoses. 2. Pull the in-wall copper refrigerant line through wall opening and attach it to the other end of the NoKink connector. Refrigerant seal products, such as Flaretite, can be used to prevent connection leaks if the connection is flare fitted. 3. Feed the in-wall copper refrigerant line and flexible NoKink connector back up into the wall opening, and mount the evaporator to the mounting bracket. Use the Equivalent Length column in the chart to calculate Nokink flexible hose refrigerant capacity when determining proper charging of the system. EXAMPLE: If the copper lineset length measures 33 linear feet, and the Nokinks used are 1/4" x 3' and 1/2" x 3', then: First, average the equivalent lengths (EL) of both NoKinks: 1/4" x 3' Nokink = 8.1' (EL) 1/2" x 3' Nokink = 3.67' (EL) Average = 5.9' (EL) Next, add 5.9' (EL) to the 33 linear feet of copper lineset. Total lineset length = 38.9' Then, use the total lineset length (in this case, 38.9') when referring to manufacturer's specifications to calculate the amount of additional refrigerant that may be needed for proper charging. 13
